Yesterday, the 26th edition of the Carthage Theatre Days festival kicked off at the Opera House of the City of Culture in the capital, Tunis, under the slogan "Theatre is the Pulse of the Street". The festival honored a number of Tunisian theatrical figures at its opening, represented by Leila El Rzeki, Fathi Al Akkari, Ali Al Khemiri, Al Zouheiri Al Sibai, Slim Al Sanhaji, and Hadi Boumaiza. The festival program, running until the 29th of this month, features over 80 performances, including 12 in the official competition. The opening show was the play "King Lear" starring Egyptian actor Yahya Al Fakhrani.
