The Tunisian Football Federation has expressed its full support for its international player, Hannibal Mejri, after he was subjected to racist abuse on social media following his team Burnley's match against Chelsea in the English Premier League. Mejri, along with Chelsea's French defender Wesley Fofana, faced racist abuse after the game. Both players posted screenshots of abusive messages they received via private messages on Instagram. Mejri shared a message describing him with racist phrases including "terrorist monkey", commenting, "People like this still exist among us in 2026.. I ask you to teach your children and yourselves."
