Tunisian Foundation Launches Art Collection for Child Literacy

The 'Kalemat' Foundation has launched an exclusive art collection in collaboration with the world-renowned French-Tunisian artist 'El Seed', with all proceeds going to support the 'Adopt a Library' initiative led by the foundation to enhance knowledge and reading opportunities for children in Tunisia. The announcement was made during a special ceremony attended by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Foundation, members of the Board of Trustees, and a select group of cultural, media, and artistic figures. The foundation unveiled a collection featuring clothing, stationery, and accessories inspired by 'El Seed's' signature 'calligraffiti' style, which blends Arabic calligraphy with contemporary art to create paintings that carry messages of hope, understanding, and cultural unity. Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi stated: 'Every initiative we launch for children affirms that empathy is the force capable of driving positive change. Our collaboration with the creative artist (El Seed) embodies how beauty and creativity can transform into a genuine force for good. His art, rooted in identity and belonging, aligns with the Kalemat Foundation's mission to ensure children's right to read and dream of a better future.' El Seed explained that this collaboration 'transcends the boundaries of art to become a tool for social impact, igniting children's imagination and enabling them to see the world through the eyes of hope and curiosity.' He emphasized that spreading knowledge is the first step towards building compassionate and creative societies. The collection will be showcased at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 in the foundation's pavilion at the Sharjah Expo Centre until November 16, allowing the public to acquire art pieces that reflect human values and contribute to supporting children's right to education. Since its inception, the 'Adopt a Library' initiative has distributed over 170 mobile libraries across 27 countries, benefiting approximately 100,000 children. The collaboration with El Seed serves as a model for a partnership that merges art with humanitarian efforts for a more knowledgeable and just future for children worldwide.
